Dear Members of the Step Ahead Family, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Having gotten the ball rolling in early April, we have now been mentoring for eight months and wanted to touch base to update you on what has been an unforgettable year. We thank all of our students for their continued positive and energetic commitment to their sessions and we hope to continue to work with them to overcome these uncertain times. We also thank our parents for continuing to support us and enabling us to help so many students in the UK, Europe and beyond.
Warmest holiday wishes, Oliver Smith and Harry Webster
Our Charitable Partnership
We are delighted to announce that we have started a partnership with the 'Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative'.
'The initiative connects university students with young people who need free tutoring in any pre-GCSE, GCSE, or A-Level subject. Within the first week of launching, we had 3,000 university students express interest in volunteering with us and our tutor base continues to grow.' Our donation of £984.50 has provided the means for this fantastic charity to continue partnering mentors with students who have been adversely affected by the disruption caused by Covid-19 into 2021. To get involved with Jacob, Emil and their many hundreds of tutors, please visit their website at https://coronavirustutoring.co.uk/.

Our Appearance on 'Nucleargraduates Dragon's Den'
Harry represented A Step Ahead Mentors as the education specialist panelist on a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style event hosted by Nucleargraduates, the leading graduate scheme for the UK's nuclear industry. Teams were asked to plan, create, and pitch a business which had to promote STEM subjects and donate their proceeds to charities. Harry was pitched to by ‘Particle Tutoring’, who hoped to provide free tutoring services to British students whose education had been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Harry helped the team focus-in on their business model and was left impressed by their creativity and effort. We would like to thank Nucleargraduates for having us, and we wish all the teams the best of luck as they complete their program.
